A new beginning….
Yes, the time has come! My new website is just about complete and ready to ‘open’.
I am just working behind the scenes at the moment for the final touches, along with my wonderful nerd… oh i mean husband… who’s been taking care of all the technical side. (xx)
If you’d like to add my new website address to your favourites now you most certainly can do that.
But as I said, it’s not finished yet, so until I am you’ll just get a splash page.
My new website address is:
www.melissamillerphotography.com.au
Let the fun begin!

News….
I just wanted to appologise for my absence… I’m actually working on something at the moment, which is all pretty exciting!
I’m currently looking at a brand spanking new website, new designs, new logos, new lots of stuff!!
It’s still early days yet, but all the behind the scenes stuff is taking up a fair bit of time… but I think it’s going to be worth it!!
I’ve got a stack of new photos to post but I think I’ll save them for my new website…
and I’m also rather busy this month with some photoshoots booked in including a wedding.
I wont leave without posting just a couple of photos though… so here you go, some recent pics of my two cherubs. <3

Isn't she just a doll?? Love you baby girl. xx

My 'hamsum' boy (so he tells me! hehe)

< < < Rewind --- September09
Just living up to my reputation of pure slackness. (Can’t go disapointing now can I!)
Though I’d better do some catching up.
So first up, September 09.
My baby girl turned 6!! And I must say I couldn’t be any more proud than I am of her. She is a darling as she looks. Her heart is pure gold, she has a love that extends from her family and friends right through to every living creature on the planet. My future vet / zoo owner… her latest saying is that she ‘loves everything that is a part of nature’ . She doesn’t say ‘Oh look at the pretty butterfly’ … she’ll say ‘Oh look at the beautiful Monarch! Butterflies are a beautiful part of nature ‘ …. And she’ll tell me how she would love a ‘Norwegian Forest cat’ … whatever that is….  She just goes that extra step if it has to do with animals or nature in general. I love also that she thrives on learning. She’s just facinated with the world around her, and soaks up any information she can. She’s certainly the brains in the family. I could go on all day about this beautiful girl… she is my angel. xx
SOOOOOO anyway… my baby’s birthday had arrived. I didnt want to have a big party, but she really wanted her friends to visit. So we had a little tea party. We had a limit of 10 friends, which was very hard for my ‘Little Miss Popular’ as she just loves everyone and would have ivited the entire school if I let her. But her tea party was lovey, she had a great time playing with her friends on this icey cold day.

Happy 6th Birthday! xx
Here are some pics of her 6th birthday party.
(Bare with me….. there’s lots!)

Mmmmm Raspberry Swril cake!

My first attemped at rolled icing.

Decorations go on!

6 kittens because she turned 6!

Blowing out the candles!

Girls just wanna have fun!

Reading her birthday cards.

Birthday pressie from Mum & Dad - Metallic Rose DS

Pressies from her gorgeous friends from school.

And of course, the little stinkasaurus... big puppy dog eyes. Awwww
She had a great day, thank you to all who came to celebrate Taliah’s birthday with her. xx

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
That’s the sound of a bee… coz I’ve been as busy as one lately! LOL Ok, that sounded funnier in my head before I typed it.
ANYWAY….. it is true though. And I’ve neglected my poor wittle blog, which has not been updates since hmmm August!! EEK!! This ones only going to be a quick one as it’s wayyyy past my bedtime, but I thought I’d jusmp on quickly to update detial of the Smile photography comp. The photo which was selected was the one below!!

(’Scuse the boys grumpy expression…. he had had enough of shopping by then! Oh and he’s since had that boofhead hairdo trimmed… I was holding off getting it cut until the wedding.)
I haven’t heard back yet if I’ve won, but I was up against some pretty good competition, so I wont hold my breath. I’m just stoked to have made it through for the second time.
A BIG thanks to all those who took the time to vote for me, and especially those that said they voted because they thought it really was the best photo, not just because it was mine. That meant so much to me, thank you!!
And for those interested, the rest of the series of photos taken on the farm are in this blog somewhere. (Just checked, next page, posted on May 26th.)
That’s enough for now…. bed time for me! But I have a lot to write about so keep eyes peeled! (Owww, that sounds painful when you think about it!!)

Rein sisters at Yester Grange
I had the pleasure of heading out to the devine Yester Grange to take some photos of the lovely Rein sisters, Beth, Michelle, Nicole & Kelly, as well as Beth’s two gorgeous kidlets Kayla & Ethan. The sun was shining, though the air was cool. It was my first visit to Yester Grange and I’m impressed! I’m hoping to get some of my own wedding photos taken there in October as it’s just such a stunning location!
Anyways…. I’ve not taken photos like these before, I’m used to much smaller people (ie. babies/children!), so it was great experience for me. My aim was to take a few traditional ‘posed’ shots as well as some fun, natural shots, which I think I achieved.
**Note** Unfortunately the current version of WordPress is having issues with the gallery option which I had planned on using so I could upload all the photos (around 60) from this session.
So instead I’m just going to upload a handful for now, and hope that I can sort out the gallery issue soon, in which case I’ll post the rest of the images.
Enough talk….. here are some of the photos.

So that’s it for now.
Big thanks to Beth, Michelle, Nicole & Kelly for allowing me to take your photos.
You were all fantastic and a lot of fun! Hope you like the photos!
Cheers, Melissa.

My boy…
My baby turned 2 a couple weeks ago.
I’ve been slack with the up-loading & keeping up to date as Mum was here for a couple weeks and then I’ve been sick for the last 2 weeks.
Better late than never…
This was his birthday party cake (He also had a cake for his actual birthDAY, which I’ll add in another post)
My boy loves trains, so this was my attempt at a train cake.

I was going to make a train shaped cake, but my mixer blew up so I had to buy a cake and just decorate it.
He liked it, which was the main thing of course!
Now for a trip down memory lane…..
My little newborn Boodhi…

1st birthday (& 1st haircut too!)

And at his 2nd birthday party, mouth full of cheese & bacon balls!
Happy birthday my boy. xx

Buddies!
Every afternoon when I pick Boo up from school, does she run to Mum for a big hug because she missed me so much?? Nooooooo! She runs straight for her ‘buddies’Â (as she refers to them as) for a hug! But it’s too cute, you just can’t help smiling. These lot have become quite good friends, and it’s now become part of the daily ritual that they all greet with a hug, walk hand in hand down the path to the cars before more hugs to say goodbye.
